OK, I should have included a pointer, as it's not at all obvious, but I
hadn't time to dig it out. :) Also, it's not worth being called a
language design; it's just a hint at one, but Ted'll probably be able to
tell you more. It's in Ted's original ZZ design (which is worth reading,
by the way,) slides 31 and 32, which you can find at:

The whole design are 78 numbered slides in the manual directory, and it
is pointed to from the old Perl prototype's download page -- the link
just goes to the directory listing.
